Happy April Fools’ Day!

April Fish

Happy April Fools’ to everyone from Photobook Worldwide

April Fools’ Day is also know as All Fools’ Day. It is one of the most playful and fun holidays celebrated  today. Although we the origins of the holiday is unclear, it still doesn’t stop us from pranking one another and having fun with it!

A traditional April Fools’ Day joke in Italy, France and Belgium is to tack paper fishes on each other’s back and shout “April fish!” in their native languages. In Italian it is “Pesce d’aprile!”, in French it’s “Poisson d’avril!” and in Dutch it is “Aprilvis!”. The earliest recorded association between April 1st and being foolish can be found in Canterbury Tales written in 1392 by Chaucer.
